ACTIVITY CLASSES

SELF DEFENSE:

WITH AN EMPHASIS ON AIKIDO

OFFICE HOURS:

By appointment: Tuesdays or Thursdays – 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.

PARTICIPATION:

Your final grade will be determined by your participation. The grading procedure* is given below.

Attendance will be taken everyday. You must sigh in before 5:00 p.m. Tues. / Thurs. or 11:00 a.m. Sat.

If you come late, it is your responsibility to inform the instructor that you are attending class and sigh in after class.

MAKE-UP-POLICY:

2 BONUS POINTS may be earned by observing a class at: Aikido of Modesto, 1501 Coffee Rd. Suite L Modesto Ca. Monday or Wednesday evenings from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. Inter. Or 7:45 – 8:45 p.m. Basic OR: Open Circle Aikido, 950 Oakdale Rd. Suite N Modesto Ca. Monday or Wednesday evenings from 6:15 – 7:15 p.m. Basic and Intermediate.

You must have a “make-up slip” signed by the instructors of the class in order to get credit.

BONUS POINTS:

ONLY 4 BONUS POINTS may be earned by observing at Aikido of Modesto or Open Circle Aikido !

ACTIVITY DRESS CODE:

You must be dressed out in appropriate P.E. clothes to participate.

Sweatpants and a t-shirt are recommended. Levis , denims and shorts and not appropriate.

Watches, bracelets, necklaces, loop earrings and rings with sharp edges should be removed before class. Please take your shoes off at door. You must wear socks on the mat!

INJURIES:

If you are injured during class, you must inform the instructor and fill out a “INCIDENT FORM”. Even for a minor injury. First aid such as ice can be given immediately. For a more serious injury, the nurse must be informed to protect both you and the instructor and for insurance purposes.

MIDTERM EXAMS:

Tuesday 02 -10-04 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Class will meet at Open Circle Aikido Value = 4 points.

Thursday 02-12-04 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Class will meet at Aikido of Modesto Value = 4 points.

Saturday 02 -21- 04 11:00 a.m. to 1:50 p.m. Class will meet Here, Gym 101 Value = 5 points.

FINAL EXAM:

There will be MANDATORY FINAL EXAMS for both classes.

Thursday 03-18-04 5:00 – 6:25 p.m. Class will meet here, Gym 101 Value = 4 points

Saturday 04-03-04 11:00 to 1:50 p.m. Class will meet here, Gym 101 Value = 5 points

*GRADING POLICY:

Grades are based on participation, on a straight percentage basis.

50 Points Are Possible 36 – 50 points = 90% = A 32 – 35 points = 80% = B

28 – 31 points = 70% = C 24 – 27 points = 60% = D 0 – 23 points = 0 – 57% =F

NOTE: “DROPPING” THIS CLASS IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY!!!!!
